Jewelry Care

Jewelry Care
Lumora pieces are made primarily with 999 or 990 silver, depending on the design and structure of each piece. We choose high-purity silver for its soft natural luster, gentle tone, and the way it carries texture, time, and touch.

999 & 990 Silver
999 silver contains approximately 99.9% silver. It has a soft, warm silver tone and is more delicate by nature.

990 silver contains approximately 99.0% silver. It keeps the beauty of high-purity silver while offering slightly better strength and durability.

For pieces with chains, clasps, moving parts, or delicate structures, 990 silver may be used to help the jewelry hold its shape better during daily wear.

Natural Silver Changes
Silver naturally changes over time.

Oxidation and darkening may occur when silver is exposed to air, moisture, sweat, perfume, cosmetics, seawater, swimming pool water, hot springs, or chemical cleaners.

This is a normal characteristic of silver and is not considered a quality defect.

Over time, raised areas may become brighter while recessed areas may deepen in tone. We see this as part of the beauty of silver: it records time, touch, and the life of the person who wears it.

Care Instructions
- Keep your jewelry dry when not wearing.
- Store it in a sealed jewelry bag or jewelry box.
- Avoid perfume, lotion, makeup, seawater, pool water, hot springs, and chemicals.
- Remove before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, or heavy activity.
- Gently polish with a soft silver polishing cloth after wear.
- Do not pull, bend, squeeze, or twist the jewelry.
- Avoid over-polishing textured or intentionally oxidized areas.

Handmade Note
Each Lumora piece is handmade or hand-finished. Slight variations in texture, polishing, and detail are natural and make every piece unique.

These are not flaws, but part of the character of handmade silver jewelry.
